Caliber Privacy Policy
Version 1.2 · 3 Oct 2026
Caliber is a product of Smart Room for Business Applications Design and Operation Company (Limited Liability Company), trading as Aviniti (commercial registration no. 77797), Office 133, Floor 3, Building 138, Al-Sakhra Al-Musharrafa St, Al-Zohour, Amman, Jordan. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it goes, and what you can do about it.
1. Who can use Caliber
Caliber is for people aged 18 and over. We ask your date of birth at sign-up. If it shows you are under 18, we delete your account and data straight away.
2. What we collect
- Account: your sign-in method (Apple, Google or phone number), phone number or email if the method gives it, your first name (optional), date of birth, language, and settings (notifications, quiet hours, Brutal mode).
- Photos you take: face photos (for try-ons and your Calibration), outfit photos (fit checks), product pack photos (your shelf). We ask your consent the first time for each type, and you can turn each consent off in Settings > Privacy.
- Reference photos of a cut or beard you like: the phone crops them to the hair or beard and hides the face before anything is uploaded. The crop is deleted right after your try-on (within 1 day at the latest). The full picture never leaves your phone.
- What Caliber learns (your Calibration): face shape, hair and beard type, colours, style labels, routine, with how sure we are and where each came from. Also your try-ons, verdicts, closet items, fit checks, shelf and routine log.
- Plan and purchases: your plan, allowances and store subscription status (from RevenueCat). We never see your card details.
- Device: a notification token and platform, so we can send you notifications. To prevent abuse of free scans, we also use a hashed device identifier (a scrambled code, never the raw identifier) to count how many free scans a device has used, even after the app is reinstalled.
- Crash reports: if the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics (Google) sends us a technical report (device model, system version, what the code was doing). It holds no photos, no text you typed, no ad id and no personal data, only a scrambled code in place of your account id.
- Reports you send about a verdict or a vote page.
We do not collect your location. Weather is for Amman for everyone.
3. Photos: what we keep
- Photos are deleted after processing unless you choose to save them (a real-cut photo, a saved outfit).
- We keep: AI previews (renders) of your try-ons while the look exists; small crops of your clothing pieces for your closet (a crop can show part of your face, for example for glasses or a cap); your product pack photos on your shelf.
- You can see and delete every saved photo in Settings > Saved photos.
4. How we use it
Only to run Caliber for you: try-ons, verdicts, fit checks, product lookups, your Calibration, reminders and your plan. We do not give attractiveness scores. Your face and photos are never used for ads, marketing or growth analytics, and we never sell your data.
5. AI processing by Google, outside Jordan
Your photos and requests are sent to Google's Gemini models on Google Cloud Vertex AI to analyse them and make previews. All of this stays in the EU: our servers, storage and AI processing run in Google Cloud in Frankfurt, Germany, and Google's EU region; the vote page website runs in the Netherlands. Google processes this data for us under its Cloud terms and does not use it to train its models.
When you look up a new product, Google Search results are used to show you product details. These are shown only and are not stored.
6. Vote links
When you send looks to a vote, anyone with the link can see those looks and your first name. Voters type a first name and pick a look. We keep voter names, votes and the poll until 30 days after the vote closes, then delete them. To limit abuse, the vote page sets one cookie (a random device id) and we store only scrambled (hashed) forms of the device id and IP address. The vote page has no analytics and no other cookies. You can remove any voter or delete the vote.
7. Who we share with
Only the service providers listed in our Third parties list (Google, Apple, Google Play, RevenueCat, Open Beauty Facts). We share with authorities only when the law requires it.
8. How long we keep data
- Your Calibration and account data: until you delete them.
- Unsaved photos: deleted after processing.
- Guest data (if you skip sign-up): 7 days.
- Vote data: 30 days after the vote closes.
- Data exports: 7 days.
- After you delete your account: everything is erased within 30 days. Products you added to the shared product database stay, without your name.
- Scrambled sign-in codes: to stop the free trial and the invite bonus being claimed again and again, we keep a one-way scrambled code (a hash) of your sign-in identity (Apple or Google ID, email or phone number) for 12 months, even after you delete your account. It is not linked to your account, and it cannot show us who you are without our secret key. After 12 months it is deleted automatically.
9. Your rights
In Settings you can: download a copy of your data (ready within a day, link valid 7 days), delete saved photos, turn consents off, and delete your account. You can also contact us to ask to see, correct or delete your data. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription; cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Only named staff can access user photos. If a breach affects you, we will tell you within 24 hours and the regulator within 72 hours of finding out.
11. Changes
We will show the new version and date in the app, and tell you in the app about important changes.
